 | Explorer of Life's Deeper Currents | Apr 20, 2008 |
I love looking at life and all its ramifications, just like Thoreau, Emerson, Thomas Merton, Annie Dillard, etc. I'm trying very hard to be a writer of sort, especially a poet. I don't aspire to be a Pablo Neruda, a Rumi or a Rilke. However, I'm still nurturing a long time dream of coming up with my own book of poems. I hope to study, in depth, the writings of Joseph Campbell, Thomas Merton, Ken Wilber, Rabbi Abraham Heschel, Martin Buber and William Blake. By the way, I embrace quite moments where I can hear life's whispers. Here's my writing philosophy as elucidated by Thomas Merton from the preface to the Japanese edition of Thoughts in Solitude, March 1966: "No writing on the solitary, meditative dimensions of life can say anything that has not already been said better by the wind in the pine trees. These pages seek nothing more than to echo the silence and peace that is 'heard' when the rain wanders freely among the hills and forests. But what can the wind say where there is no hearer? There is then a deeper silence: the silence in which the Hearer is No-Hearer. That deeper silence must be heard before one can can speak truly of solitude." | Photos | Jul 11, 2008 |

A video I made of the Beatles, using the song "In My Life." John, Paul, George, and Ringo in plenty of clips. My tribute to them, so to speak. Very cute and might be a tear-jerker. Enjoy and please rate/comment! | Guestbook | |

Hi Christine, thanks also for your visit.I agree with your view. In my case, I try to squeeze as much time as possible to write and read. As they say, we cannot manage time. It goes on and on no matter what. The thing is managing ourselves in relation to time. And this is what I have been doing ever since. In due time, as you pursue your passion, you will be able to find precious chunks of time. God bless. |

thanks for visiting my site, and for looking at my work. I am learning about my art everyday, even though life's realities sometimes intrude on my painting time. |

Mystical be, the way of night's power Whole darkness sets the light to rest Enchantment taken to life, in dim hours Silently nurturing with the care of cellist. Blinded in sight, night leads the way Giving to light, endurance forth long Peacefully thought in slumber, night rejoices day Co-inhabiting to the realm, which that belong. The night breathes a renewal of freshness Glistened with moisture, the leafs of dawn Calming stillness replenished the day's coming breath As the existence of life carries on |
