Virgilio is Listening to the Whispers of the Wind

for everyone
Start:     Jul 25, '08 10:00a
Someone asked me this question. Here’s why:

1. It’s therapeutic.
2. It gives me the opportunity to express my feelings (an effective outlet for my frustrations and concerns).
3. I get to meet and read the thoughts of interesting people and create meaningful friendships even in cyberspace from all over the world (I feel like a global citizen).
4. It serves as a vehicle for my writing (essays and poetry).
5. It makes my aloneness worthwhile.
6. It provokes me to question everything.
7. It helps me to appreciate everything, warts and all.
8. It expands my field of vision on the meaning of life.
9. It gives me something worthwhile to look forward to at the end of the day.
10. I get to glorfify HIM.

In a nutshell, it adds spice to my life.

What's yours?

Thanks, Lenianne, for your comments. Looking forward to more comments from you.

Indeed, it is therapeutic in the sense that you are able to release pent-up emotions through the blog instead of suppresing them which in a way is not healthy if you come to think about it. In other words, the blog is an outlet. Plus others can benefit too from your writings

... agree with all of the above except for #5 ..... I may live alone, but i never feel alone.....
I also blog to keep family and friends (who live overseas) the opportunity to find out what I have been up to...... and thus be a part of my every-day life!

I like this. Some call it "the presence." This triggers a whole range of interpretation, but for as long as you know you're not alone, even though you're, is enough. It boils down to ones perception of what being alone is. I remember a monk-friend of mine telling me that when he is deep into meditation, he feels he is present and at the same time he is not. Thanks for your comment and hope to receive some more.
